Sustainable success stories

Modern lacquer systems are versatile to use

Pioneers in the crafts industry

Current voices of those shaping the future

Our modern water-based lacquers have now achieved a high level of quality. There are now sustainable alternatives for each application involving interior fittings. Many of our customers have realised this. Here are a few examples from people who talk freely about their transformation experiences.

Both proprietors as well as lacquering operatives and planners report in detail about hurdles and successes with the introduction of Hydro lacquer into their companies.

The company Willi Pfeffer DER SCHREINER GmbH has been producing high quality furniture for a varied customer base since 1990, from private customers to renown bathroom installers or the Porsche Museum. Its extensive product portfolio includes innovative interior fitting solutions such as bathroom and kitchen furniture and individual pieces of furniture, but also top quality building and apartment doors as well as exclusive outdoor furniture. Tischlerei stilfabrik* GmbH

Simplified approval

Tischlerei stilfabrik* GmbH

stillfabrik* has always paid attention to making its production processes as environmentally-friendly as possible, and those principles led it to make an early switch to sustainable surfaces. Instead of making a gradual transition over a number of years and using water-based and solvent -based lacquers in parallel, when it moved into its new premises in 2020, it switched entirely to water-based lacquer. Piet Hülsmann as proprietor provides details in a video.

Sustainability in industry

Efficiently into the future

Legal provisions mean that industrial lacquer processors in Germany have for years had to verify their solvent consumption. Self-interest in VOC reduction is therefore very high in this sector. The incentive for industrial companies varies greatly in international comparison depending on the legislation in individual countries.

A transformation to greater sustainability doesn’t need to consume a lot of time and money; here are just two examples of this.

VOC content reduced by 79 %

Within 4 weeks

Switching to HYDRO-UV lacquer enabled the yacht-builder to reduce the VOC content of its spray application by 79 per cent within a month. It therefore succeeded in reducing its VOC emissions from production in 2021 by around 17,000 litres compared to 2020.

Martin Braun talks about the successful conversion of his client from the yacht-building sector.
