Markotex effect

Striking accents in the modern country style, perfect for softwoods

Versatile application options

Fields of application : Unusual, creative accents in the country style for durable surfaces on up-market interior fittings and in kitchens, etc. The so-called Markotex effect is produced by a combination of colour lacquer and stain on textured softwood, giving the impression of Mediterranean pine surfaces. Selection and pre-treatment of the softwood is crucial to the overall finish. Softwoods with a fine pattern of soft and hard growth rings are the most favourable. Texture can be produced in many ways, for example by brushing out using steel and Andalon brushes and by sanding with a coarse grit.
