Description/features: This two-tone surface effect makes it possible to recreate the feel of old plastering techniques. Modern styles, such as a jeans effect, are also possible.
Areas of use: Unusual, creative accents for hard-wearing surfaces in interiors and shop fittings, for hotel furnishings, etc.
How to – plastering effect
Sample process:
Step 1:
- Sand down priming foil, laminated chipboard or MDF surfaces well
- Prime with one or two coats of 150 - 200 g/m² FANTASTIC-FILL DP 4755-9343 mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4071 thinned with 10 % PU Thinner DV 4900
- Dry for at least 16 hours at 20 °C
- Intermediate sanding/sanding grain 280 - 320
- Apply one or two coats of 150 - 200 g/m² or UNA-COLOR DB 45245-(colour tone) mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4070 if necessary, thin or retard the coloured lacquer depending on the size of the surface
- leave to harden for a few minutes, then use a Japanese spatula or other suitable trowel shapes to create a plastering effect
- Dry for at least 16 hours
Step 2:
- Apply one thin coat of maximum 50 - 60 g/m² of UNA-COLOR DB 45245-(colour tone) in an accent colour mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4070 + 20 – 30 % PU Thinner DV 4900
- Dry for 3 - 5 hours
- Sand surface to create desired effect with grain 150 - 280
Step 3:
- Apply one finishing coat of 100 - 150 g/m² UNA-PUR DE 4259x(gloss level) mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4070
- Dry for at least 16 hours at 20 °C
