The University of Hohenheim relies on PURA NATURA HYDRO lacquer
The University of Hohenheim is setting standards when it comes to sustainability. It is where architects Markus Lanz and Nicolas Schwager have created a real showpiece. All surfaces in the building feature pure wood. The PURA-NATURA HYDRO lacquer used on pine is particularly matt, and it in no way changes the intrinsic colour of the wood. The surfaces are particularly scratch resistant, light fast and resilient – even in terms of footprints or common household chemicals. It may also interest you to know that this modern, water-based lacquer meets all significant specifications from certification systems including LEED (Leadership in Energy und Environmental Design), the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen), the Assessment System for Sustainable Building (Bewertungssystem Nachhaltiges Bauen – BNB) and Dubai Green Building.

The Raumprobe, founded in 2005, is the leading material database. On 1,200 square metres, 50,000 physical material samples are located in Stuttgart and the same number again as digital samples. Since 2013, raumprobe has organised the annual Material Award. Here, we won the material prize in the "Collection" category with our sample fan and the CREATIVE METALLIC colour selection.
The Raumprobe wants to whet people's appetites for the creative use of materials through curated material presentations. It sees itself as an interface between manufacturers and planners as well as the compound of competence and creativity.
