We have a long tradition of integrating sustainability into our corporate strategy. Sustainable products like water-based lacquers or waxes and oils have been included in our portfolio for decades, augmented by UV und Hydro UV lacquers. Our sustainability strategy is a targeted concept that assists our company in harmonizing ecological, social and economic aspects. Our aim is to ensure long-term success and make a positive contribution to society and the environment.
The brand values of being competent, responsible and inspirational were firmly anchored in our corporate strategy and communications as part of our brand relaunch in 2021. Indeed the brand value of being “responsible” helps with optimising sustainability during implementation.

Ecology includes strategic environmental aspects, such as resource efficiency, waste reduction , renewable energies and the use of eco-friendly technologies. Measures in this respect are developed and realised in the PDCA cycle via our management systems.
From an economic perspective, Hesse sees sustainable economic activity as the basis for achieving long-term competitive advantages. It’s how we minimise risks and foster innovation. A key measure is that we make targeted investment in research and development to enable us to supply sustainable surface solutions.
Social aspects including human rights, working conditions, diversity and inclusion are also integrated within our sustainability strategy. Active inclusion of all relevant internal and external stakeholders helps us to implement these aspects.
Living up to our sustainable responsibility involves us aligning with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which came into force in 2016.
