How to – Metallic finish
- Substrate material: Laminated MDF
- Edge and profile sanding: Grit 150 - 180 (dust removal)
- Laminate sanding: Grit 320 - 400 (dust removal)
- Apply FANTASTIC-FILL DP 4755-9005 at 150 - 300 g/m² depending on surface structure, mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4071+ 1 - 2 % PU Thixotroping agent ZD 3596 and 10 % PU Thinner DV 4991 added to the lacquer/hardener mixture. Please mix all components carefully.
- Drying: 3 - 5 min / 20 °C
- Effect creation: Place a firm, smooth sheet of plastic (e.g. PVC) on the lacquered surface and edges, press it on and then immediately remove it again in an upward motion. This process can be repeated depending on the desired effect.
- Drying: 4 h / 20 °C
- Primer effect sanding: Grit 240 (by hand or using an orbital sander)
- Apply PU Metallic DB 42632-M19646 at 130 – 160 g/m², mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4070, add 30 - 40 % PU Thinner DV 4900 to the lacquer/hardener mixture
- Drying: 4 h / 20 °C
- PU Metallic effect sanding: with grit 600 by hand (dust removal)
- Apply UNA-PUR DE 4259x(gloss level) at 130 - 160 g/m², mixing ratio (by volume) 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4070, add 10 - 20 % PU Thinner DV 4900 to the lacquer/hardener mixture. We recommend a dull matt gloss level for this metallic effect.
