HYDRO-PU MATO HDU 54200
This light fast HYDRO-PUR MATO excels due to its elegant and even dull matt surface coupled with excellent scratch resistance. The finished surfaces exhibit outstanding resistance against chemical and mechanical demands. Its soft-touch feel in particular makes this innovative 2C HYDRO system the first choice when it comes to resistant and sophisticated surfaces. Should deformation of the lacquer surface occur due to impacts or scratches despite the very resistant surface, this can easily be repaired by simply wiping it with a damp cloth.

Processing information | The flow time increases to 35 s / DIN 53211 - 6 mm after curing and it is advisable to apply the material accordingly. It can nevertheless be adjusted with up to 5 % water (18 s / DIN 53211 - 6 mm) or by adding up to 3 % HYDRO Optimizer HZ 70 (22 s / DIN 53211 - 6 mm) if a lower application viscosity is required. The hardener must always be added before thinning with water! Do not store material with added hardener in closed containers. The use of HYDRO-PUR MATO as a top coat has been positively tested on the following lacquer systems: HUB 88x(gloss level)-(colour tone), HDB 5470x(gloss level)-(colour tone), HDB 5480x(gloss level)-(colour tone), HB 6528x(gloss level)-(colour tone), DB 4476x(gloss level)-(colour tone), DB 4524x(gloss level)-(colour tone), DB 4888x(gloss level)-(colour tone), HDG 5410, HDE 54500-0001, HG 6580, HE 6542x(gloss level), HE 6509x(gloss level). Dry the “base coat” in each case for 16 h at 20 °C room temperature and with appropriate sanding directly before the finishing coat. Conduct a trial coating on a case-by-case basis. This material can also be force dried. As a guideline: at 90 g/m² on a colour lacquer surface products will be stackable after 1 h at 20 °C RT and then 2 h at 50 °C UL. Final hardness is reached after storage of around 2 d at 20 °C RT. Please test the lacquer under real conditions, if necessary. Clean tools with water. For removal of dried lacquer residues use Hesse HYDRO Cleaning agent HV 6917. In case of combined coatings (HYDRO- and solvent based lacquers) rinse application tools with Hesse HYDRO Reversing agent HV 6904. |
Special notes | This material has excellent chemical resistance. The surface’s extremely matt, soft and thus rough properties result in the surface not meeting the requirements of DIN 68861 in all respects. The lacquer’s superb scratch resistance only develops after 2 - 3 d / 20 °C room temperature.Despite the particular transparency of this innovative lacquer system, minimal colour tone variations can occur when applying the finishing coat on coloured surfaces. This is due to varying light refraction. Please apply a trial coating to check whether the result meets your requirements! Its innovative properties and special feel mean this coating is intentionally formulated to be viscoelastic when dried. Slight deformations can form in the lacquer layer under extreme and prolonged application of stress. Although the lacquer surface automatically regenerates to its original state relatively soon after the stress is removed. The time required for this depends on the duration and intensity of the stress previously applied. The “self-healing effect” works on deformations of the lacquer surface due to impacts or scratches with a blunt object and a force up to a maximum of 3 Newtons. The surface is also capable of being repaired. Should repairs be required to the exclusive MATO surface, please sand the surface gently and evenly by hand using 320 grit sandpaper and remove the dust. Directly thereafter spray on a layer of MATO. Machine sanding or any other grit of sandpaper is not advisable given the special properties of the MATO lacquer film. |
